Beraban is the village that contains Tanah Lot, sitting on the Tabanan coast just west of the Badung border. It combines a recognised tourist destination, a golf course and a long stretch of rice fields running back from the shore. Land is significantly cheaper per are than Canggu, twenty minutes away, and parcels are larger. Freehold is common. The coastal strip is partly protected around the temple, and rice-field parcels are usually zoned agricultural, so the RDTR designation and the conversion path should be established before purchase.
