Tabanan is the regency west of Badung, running from the Canggu border along the coast to Jembrana and inland to the Batukaru highlands and the Jatiluwih rice terraces. It is Bali’s main agricultural region and the direction in which coastal development is now moving. Land is markedly cheaper per are than Badung, parcels are large, and freehold is common. Beach areas such as Kedungu, Nyanyi, Pasut and Balian are the active markets. Infrastructure varies sharply between the main road and the interior, so PLN capacity, water and access should be checked on every plot.
